Rhythmic Flow Taiko Class

Taiko drumming combines music, dance, theater, and martial arts into an engaging artistic and physical practice. This virtual class was designed with the therapeutic goals of individuals with Parkinson's Disease in mind, and simulates a taiko experience at home through an integration of rhythm, large amplitude movements, vocalizations, and cognitive challenge. No prior experience needed, all are welcome!

Hosted virtually on Zoom, classes are held Wednesdays from 3:00pm-4:00pm PT. The Zoom room will open 15 minutes before class for those who have questions or need technical assistance.

What do I need for the class?

Drum surface: Any flat surface including a drum, drum pad, pillow, bed, chair, bucket, couch, etc.

Drum sticks: Options include actual drumsticks, wooden spoons, cardboard paper towel rolls, long chopsticks, rolled up stack of newspaper (any long object that you don’t mind getting a little tattered)
